    Course Maintenance

    bigpicGreens Report

Course maintenance has been brought forward this year due to the unprecedented hot summer. The work on the golf course will now commence on 1st October 2018 until 12th October.
All the greens will be deeply scarified then all greens will be hollow cored. The removal of these cores will take just over a week. The greens will then be vertidrained followed by a top dressing of sand. Finally over seeding will take place using a seed mixture of bent and fescue grasses. An autumn and winter fertilizer will be applied afterwards.
The green staff would appreciate any member who wishes to help them clear the hollow cores that are removed from the greens. This job is quite labour intensive. If you are interested please put your name down for a date & time.
Weekend start times now need to be moved back to 7.30am to allow the green staff to prepare the course.
We are still awaiting a health & safety report from Bradford council, with their recommendations. The new putting green is dugout and waiting for top soil before being well seeded in the autumn. The 18th tee should be completed in the next few weeks, levelled off and ready for either seeding or turf.

The green staff would like to thanks some members in particular for their help this summer.

    • Dan Peel : For helping out doing general duties on the golf course when we were short staffed at times this summer.
    • Terry Long : For helping out constructing the base for the new 18th tee.
    • Brian Wilson : For taking care of all the garden work around the clubhouse and 1st tee.
    • Duncan & Gillian McAndrew : For their work cleaning out weeds and grasses for all the ponds.
